St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Ride

Gary, Anne, Gary and Sherry held a fund raising ride at Little Pine Creek for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Considering all the charity and fund raising that had occurred both in West Plains (a weekend earlier) and nationally in the previous weeks, we were proud to raise more than $500.00 for this worthy charity.

"St. Jude Children's Research Hospital opened in 1962, it has treated 17,000 children from across the United States and 60 foreign countries. Research findings at St. Jude are freely shared with doctors and scientists all over the world. St. Jude, which is non sectarian, has approximately 4,000 patients in active status. It treats children without regard to race, religion, creed or ability to pay. Out of every dollar raised by ALSAC/St. Jude, 86.2 percent goes to current or future needs of St. Jude. About 9.8 percent is used to raise additional dollars and about 4 percent is used for administrative costs."
